One of the intriguing stars on the rise at Ohio State is sophomore defensive end Thaddeus Gibson. The 6-2, 240-pound Gibson is fighting for time at defensive end after being the top pick in the players' spring game draft in April. Gibson talks about that competition and much more. Click here for the video link.

We have a special video interview with Ohio State sophomore defensive end Thaddeus Gibson from Thursday's photo day at Ohio Stadium.

The 6-2, 240-pound Gibson is battling with Lawrence Wilson for time at end opposite returning starter Cameron Heyward.

Gibson is considered one of OSU's budding stars after he made the move from linebacker to defensive end last season. In this interview, he talks about that move, the competition to play, the start of preseason camp and much more.

The best defensive front this team can have to get pressure is Gibson and Wilson on the ends with Larrimore and Heyward at DT...Heyward is fit to play DT with his size, strength and quickness, and gibson has potential to be a lottery pick when he comes out...it would make this defensive front quicker and more athletic...just a thought
I agree with ildillard with the exception of larrimore.....I think hayward should move to D tackle anyway.................
Thad looks mean, but is a great kid. I hope he stays around until 2010, I think he could be a Buckeye great if he does.
That would be a great but i think they love Heyward at de even though i think he plays like Glen Dorsey or Tommie Harris if he was a dt but he is not. Great motor but he played alot and only had 3 1/2 sacks. I think he would be a better de. I really like Fickell as a coach but i wonder about Heacock. That 2002 was aggresive even though they had a great d-line. Heacock needs to be replaced. I like him but i just think that our dl which he is in charge of is not very good and our back seven has been carrying our team. Our lb has meet and exceeded my expectations but the d line has been at best bad. No pressure with all that potential i think is just bad coaching. Gholston was just a freak but we have had alot of problems with pressure and depth at these positions. Maybe it is time for a change because i really don't see him changing his coaching style. He is beyond his prime like the Bowden, Paterno, and Charlie Weis who never had a prime. LOL.
