2/6 Committed to Ohio State!!!
1/16 Today's Bucknuts Radio Hour with Derek Morris is now archived. Click here to listen.

In case you can't listen, here are some highlights:

  • Derek will decide at a press conference on signing day. He said he was "real close to being a Buckeye."
  • He really likes the class OSU is bringing in and said Coach Tressel is honest and determined.
  • His goals for college are about as big as one can have -- he wants to win the Outland Trophy and also wants to become the first offensive lineman to win the Heisman Trophy!
  • Speaking of big, he said that right now, he is 6-6, 340 and runs a 5.1 40 while benching 485 and having a 710 lb squat and a 36.5 inch vertical leap.
  • Derek followed OSU and Notre Dame growing up. He grew up in Massachusetts and then moved to NC in 9th grade. In 2001, he set a state record with 145 pancake blocks.
  • Off the field, Derek said he likes to hang out with friends, lift weights, and talk to girls (not a bad pastime).

Special thanks to Derek for the interview!

1/9 Mr. Bucknuts talked with Derek today, and he got the latest.  Derek indicated that his three favorites were Tennessee, Ohio State, and Georgia, and it sounded as if they are in that order.  He is visiting Tennessee this weekend and has an in-home visit with Coach Tressel early next week.  Derek agreed to join us on the Bucknuts Radio Hour on 1/17, and when he was asked if he was by chance going to commit anywhere before the show, and he replied "No, but I might just (make an announcement) on the show."  So be sure to tune in next week at 4 pm for an interview with Derek Morris.
